Pakradoni: "Abu-Ghazaleh was up to the challenge, and is still first in everything"

Beirut – In the presence of H.E. Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh during the 62nd edition of the Beirut Arab International Book Fair, Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org) organized a seminar and a signing ceremony for Karim Pakradoni’s book : “Talal-Abu-Ghazaleh… A Man of Knowledge.”

The event was attended by Brigadier Wasim Othman, the representative of the Defense Minister in the caretaker government Mr. Yacoub Sarraf, former Minister Mohamad Machnouk, former Minister Khalid Kabbani, and a number of politicians, thinkers and media figures.

During the seminar, Pakradoni highlighted the personality of Abu-Ghazaleh who, as a child, was forcefully displaced with his family from Jaffa in Palestine, and refuged to Ghazieh town in Lebanon where he lived in poverty.

Pakradoni said that Abu-Ghazaleh, despite all the challenges and difficulties he faced, walked four hours a day from Ghazieh to Saida back and forth under the heat of the sun and the heavy rain.

“Abu-Ghazaleh was up to the challenge as he excelled in all materials during his student years, and since then, he has been number one, in everything,” Pakradoni said.

“Abu-Ghazaleh was first in everything, however, he was the first to understand the issue of Intellectual Property; and he established a university for the poor to serve humanity and the Palestinian cause,” Pakradoni added, reiterating that Abu-Ghazaleh believes in science and digital education and is a passionate reader, reading for four hours daily.”

He concluded by saying that Abu -Ghazaleh's most favorite nickname is 'Al Mu’allem' which means “the master” in English.

For his part, Abu-Ghazaleh expressed thanks and appreciation to the author, Karim Pakradoni, for writing the book and choosing the life of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh as the subject of his book.

He affirmed his belief that suffering is a grace, pointing out that he wrote two books in his life, the first is entitled “Stories from life blessed by God with suffering”, while the second book is entitled “The Brave Knowledge World”, which was issued recently.

Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh said that “the future of the world in the fourth industrial revolution, is the revolution of knowledge. However, the new knowledge world is different, as our grandchildren will not understand how we lived in an underdeveloped era where we were deprived of telecommunication and information technology which is like the Nervous system in our bodies. In the era of knowledge, everything in our life will be controlled by the internet. We will live in a totally different world.”

“I am so proud that my friend HE Minister Karim Pakradoni, who wrote three books about three former Presidents, has chosen me as his subject following those figures as his specialization is writing about presidents. It is a great honor for me to be described as “A man of knowledge”.

Abu-Ghazaleh affirmed that the digital revolution will intervene in every detail of our life, pointing out that the societies that can cope with this revolution will be better at all levels.

He expressed hope that the Arab countries will be able to cope with that revolution and its outcomes.

After the seminar was concluded, the attendees moved to the book signing ceremony which was held in Talal Abu-Ghazaleh pavilion at Beirut Arab International Book Fair.
